on the line 6 from bottom, page 34
'There ain't no need to fear a cootie'
if it means ' there is no need to fear a cootie,' how do I understand about twice negative words? ain't can be just 'is'?
and also the same story, page 36, line 16 from bottom
'Ain't got no mother'
ain't is slang for is not or it is not
ReplyDeleteproper English for 'ain't got no mother' would be
Doesn't have a mother.
you are correct - double negative is bad grammar.
