when I read bottom of page 133 through top of page 134, I figured out there were 'would' many times. like Atticus would say, he would seep, we would go ....
I am not sure exactly what the 'would' means?

    Scout's just relating things that Atticus told the kids.

    'would say' is pretty much the same as 'said'

    the distinction is difficult to type here.
